song for every imaginable emotion? I find a ton of comfort in that, and in knowing
similar souls who feel the same way.

Summoning
I knew a girl
Full of words,
Eyes full of poetry,
Lips that spoke the language of daisies.
I knew a girl
Full of pain,
Heart full of fury,
Eyes that averted those who knew she could succeed.
I knew a girl
Full of dreams of big cities,
A mind ringing with the future,
Ears that heard the truth but didn’t believe.
I knew a girl —
Gone.
Future unrealized.
Poems unwritten.
Ears that no longer hear.
Eyes that see black.
Floating restless in a hamlet,
Stratford-on-Avon,
Summoning Shakespeare’s ghost,
Channeling Plath and Sexton.
Waiting to return —
To bring her words back.

Here's Ryan. If I could, I would adopt this guy as my brother.
He's ALWAYS here for me (well, not really "here" - he's currently in Athens, OH). We've been friends for what seems like forever. Remember the days of vinyl and cheap beer, Ryan? D'oh!!!!!!

My Friend Karen & Her Baby!
This is my fantastic friend Karen, one of
the best friends I have ever had,
with her daughter, Hope Elizabeth.
Karen and I have known each other since we
were teens. Our lives are remarkably similar.
She's the one friend I know I could call in the
middle of the night for any reason whatsoever,
and I love her and Miss Hope,
who, as you can see below, is growing by
leaps and bounds!

What can I say about Trip (this is him, with his dog, Graham)?

He was my very first boyfriend, back in ninth grade, and we still keep in touch. He asked me to be his girlfriend by typing and printing out the words to Cheap Trick's "The Flame" from his computer and then, one day after gym class, giving them to me. I still adore him and his family. He's very happily married to a great girl now and lives in KY, where he's a J.C. Penney manager.

This is my LONG-time friend Stella, with her
first-born, Eli (She just had her second son, Luke,
on June 10! You GO, girl!).

I met Stella at Washington, D.C. Close-Up my senior year
in high school, and we've been close friends ever since.
I visited her at her home in Brecksville, OH, for a week
the summer before I began college. We had a great time
(that's putting it MILDLY!), right, Stella-Stud?
"YESSSSSSSS!!!" xoxoxo, Becki-Babes!

This is Amy.

She is officially my oldest friend. She goes by Amelia now, but she was "Amy" the whole time we lived in the same town in Alaska, so "Amy" she'll always be to me. She's fearless. She's been to so many places in the world, and she's brilliant, funny, and upbeat. She's getting married in April! Ack!! I wish her all the best. Love ya, girl!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Update! Amy, as of 4-23-05, is now married!

Best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Maas! xoxoxo!

My funky, punky friend Deon.

He and I have known each other for 13 years.
He's one of the most unique people I've ever
met, and a blast to hang out with!

This is Lisa.

She's got a great sense of humor
and always offers a shoulder to
cry on. She's very caring and
warm. We have "Girls' Nights"
frequently, during which we
watch movies and gorge
shamelessly on junk food,
but the gossip and laughs
are always the best parts of
these get-togethers!
